Apu, you could easily add Pipi-r hather Chhanar Jilipi and Ranga Pishi-r hather Tutti Frutti, Pabda macher jhol and Chitol Macher Muthi to your list. It is a pity that only a lucky few know what I am talking about!

Before you enter Mithai for the mishti doi & rosogollas check out the small outlet may be a store or two away on the same pavement.
the only place I know of in Cal who serve 'goli kababs'- minced meat balls so soft (almost the consistency of well set curd)that it has to be kept coccooned in twine to prevent it from disintregating before it lands in your mouth........phenomenal bliss that trigger your taste buds to a 'sustain-release' orgasm craving for more, more & more.

Hi guys

Abt food in Kolkata ... i am a total mom freak. whenever i ask - where do yu like yur momos and in unison everyone say "Orchid and Momo Plaza." Well if a real momo is like a Gucci these ones are nothing more than a cheap replica.

Try the nepali didi who sits on the foot path in front of wine shop near orchid momos (be there before 6.00pm).
