Koi Mil Gaya

Watched it for the 23rd time last weekend when I went to Bombay. Although the last 22 times have been at Riju's request (demand?) I have enjoyed each and every viewing. And its not just because of the great acting (Hrithik was brilliant), or the marvelous cinematography or choreography or script. Its watching the movie with kids that does it for me every time. Its a movie that not only makes a kid have a rolloicking time but also makes him think things out. It feels great to give a high five to my son when hrithik smartens up and tells the computer teacher 'aadmi computer ko banaya, computer ne aadmi ko nehi banaya. kisiko chota dikhane se pehle yaad rakhenge sir ki har chota ekdin bada hota hai'. Or to applaud and cheer wildly along with all the kids when hrithik manages to come with a fantastic dance step after trying and failing thrice.

And about making a child think, here is last saturday's conversation with my son:

Self: Achcha ayush tell me..this jaadoo becomes weak when there is no sun, so why doesn't he store his power in the day time?

Ayush: Like you charge your mobile and use it?

Self: Yeah?

Ayush: The sun is like fire and the moon is like a sea. When you pour water on a fire what happens?

Self: It goes out.

Ayush: Same. All powers of Jadoo goes out when the moon comes out.

Amazing or not?

I cannot help seeing my future.. But neither am as intelligent as the dad here nor Jun seems to be as intelligent as Ayush.. But on hindsight I dont think its about intelligence. I guess its about creativity, about perception..

But what do you do when you perceive things differently, you have creativity but you have no discipline and you have no confidence.. Its painful, real painful process..

its absolutely amazing. To tell you the fact, I had to read the sentence two times to understand it. That speaks a lot about his intelligence level

a child is always naturally intelligent because natural intelligece comes only from innocence. There is no wonder that OUR knowledge can NEVER match his intelligene as it is always from our memory and age old conditioning(school,parents,society,media...)and almost never spontaneous..Dear shuv,i feel yr emphasis should be more on restoring his innocence than to train his intelligence...losing ones innocence to acquire intelligece has always proved to be an unwise bargain.Isn't it what Koi Mil Gaya is all about?

dear annon..if u have read this post u will understand that i would also love it if he stays innocent as long as possible. only thing is practically, with the exposure kids have today, i dont see too much hope of that happening. as for guiding his intelligence..i have no intention of doing that. i will try to instill some basic values in him and that will be all. there will be no interference from my side as to which direction he wants to direct his intelligence..anyway..why the 'annon' stuff?

thanks for replying shuv.didn't expect you to read a comment on an old topic. I perfectly well understand yr situation where each of us r caught between keepinng our child apace with the trend and at the same time feel helpless as the child gragually looses his innocence in doing so. One interesting observation had been that most of the classical maestros had one thing in common;they either missed out on their schooling in their early years or had been very mediocre students.Probably the whole blooming of their talents had something to do with their restored innocence..may be to an unconditioned mind?
its my personal observation that more you increase the 'intelligence' quotient the 'sensitivity' quotient is decreased more and more.and thats how u turn into a machine over the years. Machines can only be driven.Only a human can be Motivated.

sorry bro the annon stuff is just to keep u from reading my mind.
